Hi!  I am Andrea, The Period Acupuncturist

I first came across acupuncture in 2016 when my GP suggested I try it.  I was struggling with depression (which was later diagnosed as Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and before trying medication she asked if I would consider acupuncture.

Receiving acupuncture changed my life.  It not only helped me significantly, but it also gave me an insight into Chinese medicine which would lead me to quit my job as a Project Manager, to study acupuncture full-time for three years.  Needless to say, I am passionate about acupuncture.  I know it changed my life, for the better.  I know it changes my patient's lives for the better.

So what else is there to know about me?

• I specialise in menstrual health.  I continue to expand my techniques using acupuncture, and from September 2024, Chinese herbs, but also biomedicine, and new techniques that can support you in achieving change to your period problems.

• I want accessibility to good health.  It was one of the driving forces behind being a mobile acupuncturist in Hertfordshire

• I now call Hitchin, Hertfordshire my home.

• I am a mum to two wonderful girls.

• I love walking and I am the dog owner of an Irish Terrier, who listens always, and a Miniature Dachshund, who never listens.

• I have endless woolly clothes and when I can find a spare moment I am found crocheting.

• I stopped drinking alcohol in 2019 

• I love cheese and coffee and 90s garage music.  But don't hold that against me

• I am a voracious reader.  This is good because Chinese medicine books are heavy
